Still with me?

Woohoo!

First of all, hello and welcome!
My name is Danielle, and I am the face behind Embolden Private Dayhome Consulting. In my personal life I am a wife to my amazing husband Scott, and together we have 2 little girls who are our ultimate pride and joy.

For as long as I can remember it has always been my dream to open a dayhome. I know, it’s kind of a weird dream for a 7 year old, but it’s true!

You see, growing up my mom was a stay at home mom and I really wanted to re-create this amazing way to raise a family for my kids.

However, even at the age of 7, I realized just how much my parents sacrificed to be able to have my mom home with us.

And I knew that running a dayhome business would allow me to be home with my children while still contributing to my household income.

When my daughter was just 12 months old, I realized my dream and opened my private dayhome. Since then, I have had the pleasure of caring for a handful of amazing families who we have grown to love like our own.

But it hasn’t always been easy.

The first year of running a dayhome was a big learning curve for me. Not only was I unsure of myself as a dayhome provider, but I also had a lot of questions about running my dayhome business, and no one to ask for guidance.

I realized very quickly that there was really no support system for private dayhome providers in Alberta. I also learned that if you choose to blaze the dayhome trail as a private business, you are really going it alone.

Add in the fact that it can be really difficult to network within the dayhome community, and you have a recipe for disaster. That disaster being a burnt out, unsupported, and lonely dayhome provider.

I am determined to change this.

It was this experience that made me realize there is a need for private dayhome support in Alberta. A place where you can easily find help, resources, and a community of dayhome providers that are ready to support you on your dayhome journey.

That’s why I created Embolden Private Dayhome Consulting.

And it is my greatest hope that you will find the support and guidance that you are looking for, all right here on this website.

So grab a coffee, and take a look around. If you like what you see, reach out to us!

My goal is to be that life line that I needed on my journey for other private providers in Alberta.

Together we can build a community of passionate caregivers that embolden each other to be the best providers they can be!

I can’t wait to get to know you!

Until then,
Danielle Bourdin
