Long live the mess!
We continued the Spring Break fun today with some messy play!
The kids loved this Glow in the Dark Bouncy Ball activity.
This recipe includes Borax, so make sure you are well informed before you choose to go ahead with this one!
If you’re in, check it out below!
Ingredients on this one are pretty simple! Borax, white glue, cornstarch, glow in the dark paint, and water!
First step is to mix 1/2 TBSP of Borax with 1 1/2 cups warm water.
Mix until the Borax is dissolved and set aside.
In another cup, mix together 1 TBSP white glue, and 1 TBSP cornstarch. Add in your glow in the dark paint – about 1 TSP or so. Mix this up until it’s nice and smooth.
Now take 2 TBSP of your Borax solution and add it to the glue mixture.
Start stirring, and you’ll see the making’s of your bouncy ball form right before your eyes. Once you have a pretty good glob forming on your stick, you can pull it out and start kneading with your hands. The more you knead the firmer your ball will become. The kids loved this part. It starts out sticky and gooey, and then starts to firm up.
Once your ball is nice and firm, it’s ready to bounce!
And of course the fun part is charging the bouncy balls in the light so that they glow.
My kids have been playing in the dark all day!
This activity gets 2 thumbs up from this crew!
